This was a commissioned piece I did for a great client of mine who really loves the old Saturday matinee serials of the 1940's.
The drawing depicts the very first actor to portray the caped crusader on screen, Lewis Wilson, in Columbia Pictures original "Batman" movie serial.
My client provided me with a nice black and white photo off ebay, and asked me to do something special with it. So, I turned the image into a "mock" comic book cover from the 40's complete with the old Batman logo and period cover markings.
I had a lot of fun doing it for him!
